Beyond the dramatic coastline, South Australia is full of small details, country events, old vehicles and quiet landscapes.

A Different Side of South Australia

South Australia is easy to reduce to coastlines, cliffs and big skies. But some of the photographs I enjoy most come from the smaller, stranger details between those landscapes.

Away from the postcard

Country shows, old vehicles and roadside objects carry a different kind of character. They are ordinary enough to be overlooked, which is often exactly why I stop.

Life between landscapes

There are crowds too. Cycling brings people into the streets, while forests and rivers offer a completely different atmosphere only a short journey away. Together these scenes feel closer to the South Australia I know than any single iconic view.

A place is rarely one thing. Sometimes its identity sits in the details between the landmarks.
